Registered Nurse - Day Ward Scrub/Scout - FT/PT

Canberra Microsurgery (CMS) is a day hospital dedicated to providing efficient and compassionate patient-centred care in a safe, high-quality environment. We aim to maintain excellence in surgical treatment, to ensure the safety and quality of its facilities, to provide informed and compassionate patient care at all times, and to nurture a supportive and educational environment for its staff.

The role reports to the Clinical Manager/Director of Nursing.

Mandatory Criteria:

Registered Nurse (Division 1) with current Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia registration with AHPRA
Previous experience in Perioperative nursing with exceptional clinical skills

Essential skills:

Previous nursing experience in Ophthalmology preferably in scrub/scout
Deliver safe and effective nursing care to patients in the day surgery environment whilst administering general RN duties
Attentive to detail and adaptable to work independently as well as collaboratively
Ability to establish interpersonal relationships and collaborate with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
Demonstrated excellence in verbal and written communication with basic computer literacy
Flexibility to accommodate unanticipated changes in rostering based on facility requirements
Active involvement in Quality Improvement activities
